Kim Kardashian West had let slip the gender of her yet-to-be-born baby on the Ellen DeGeneres show, setting off considerable speculation. Well, turns out it was the truth! Kardashian West and her husband Kanye West have welcomed a baby girl, their third child together, at 12.57 am on Monday.
“Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl,” Kim wrote in a post titled, “She’s Here!” She added, “We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care.” The 37-year-old reality star announced the arrival of her baby who weighed in at 7 lbs 6 oz. on Tuesday. Their baby, whose name hasn’t yet been shared, joins older siblings North, 4, and Saint, 2.

Apparently, the reality star was in the delivery room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA, when her surrogate gave birth. She was the first person to have skin-to-skin contact with the baby, reportedly. While Kanye was in the delivery room, behind a curtain, he came out after the baby was born and held his daughter for the first time. Kris Jenner and Kim's sisters were also at the hospital, but they were not in the delivery room.
The couple had tried keeping their pregnancy news under wraps initially, till Kim confirmed the news in September on Season 14 of her family's E! series ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’ The reality star was seen on a video call with her sister, Khloé Kardashian, saying, “What happens every time I say, 'Guess what?” Kim asks her sister. Khloe answers, “The person's pregnant?” followed by Kim announcing, “We're having a baby!”
Kim had also had a pink-themed baby shower in November and had been very open about the complications she suffered from her pregnancies. She had suffered from pre-eclampsia, a complication characterized by high blood pressure, when she was pregnant with North. During both her pregnancies, she had placenta accreta, which occurs when the placenta attaches too deeply in the uterine wall. Since then, she had been open about her willingness to conceive via surrogacy.
