Newcomer Simrat Kaur is playing the leading lady in Anil Sharma's upcoming directorial Gadar 2 starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma. The film is all set to the theatres on August 11, 2023. The film will mark Simrat's big break in Bollywood as she has mainly worked in the South Indian film industry. For the unknown, Simrat made her acting debut in Bollywood in a film titled Soni.

In an exclusive conversation with PeepingMoon, Simrat shared her experience of grabbing a legacy project. "The film is already like this big and I'm a total newcomer while the other three characters Tara, Sakina, and Jeete; the audience have all always loved them so much. And from the past 20 years, they are connected to these three characters. So suddenly, there is a new girl Muskaan coming in. But when I started shooting, I was like, 'Okay, I'm in this big movie. I have to think like that.' Well, there was excitement and perceptions inside me about being an outsider. But now that things have changed - not in my attitude, but in the way I perform. I had to work more on it, think more about it and how will that character be. How will she react? I did all my homework in my brain because it was Gadar,  I can't just be like, Okay, let's do it. Let's do it. Yeah."

On working and sharing the screen space with Sunny Deol and having a project with big stars and a feeling sense of responsibility carrying forward the film, the actress expressed, "What I always tell myself is that a star or a movie is big but when you're in front of the camera, we all are the same! There is nothing that one is superior to the other. When you're in front of the camera, everyone in that frame will be equally important. So I always kept telling myself that when the camera goes off,  I have to respect that person to the max level. While I'm there on the camera, I have to be what the character needs to be. And that is how only you can work and do your characters. If you think about how big a star is and if you hesitate in front of them, it will impact your performance in the film and will ruin the entire crew."

Simrat later on also narrated her first meeting with Sunny Deol and said, "I have grown up watching him, So when I saw Sunny, he was very much comfortable. He sits very silently in the corner. And when I saw him for the first time, I was not shooting with him, his solo shot was going on. I just heard him and saw him. When I saw him for the first time, I was like Oh my god. What a personality and was totally awestruck with his good looks. So, Anil Sir asked me to greet him after the shot got over. After the shot was done, he was like, go and tell him Namaste or do a Hi, Hello something. I was like 'No sir I can't.' He was like you have to at least go and greet. I was getting quite nervous if I should go in front of him or not, I had no idea about it. Then he greeted me so well. And then after that, I had to do a scene with him after a month."

She added, "So that time again I got so nervous about how I will match his performance. Then I was like, I don't have to match his performance. I have to do what my character should be doing. So then again, I reminded myself that the camera is the same for everyone, there is no difference. So you have to do your work no matter what. That's what even Anil Sir told me that you have to just feel it from your heart I was not able to do that emotional scene because I was just way too nervous. The only reason was I was standing next to him. So he's like, you just have to feel it. Go aside. Take two minutes to feel the emotion and it will automatically come to your face. Don't be nervous and then he said and then I took my time. I took two minutes and then he did the scene and it came on brilliant. Sunny Sir has definitely got a star vibe. He doesn't throw any tantrum or attitude but the way he stands, talks, walks everything is a star-like. He has got an Aura like that!"
