The much adored Gautam Rode got hitched to his long-time girlfriend Pankhuri Awasthy on February 6th at Alwar, Rajasthan.

It was a private and exquisite ceremony, which saw the presence of close friends and family members.

A month later, newlyweds Gautam Rode and Pankhury Awasthi had a little tete-a-tete with us about their wedding celebrations, life after marriage, future projects and much more.

How does it feel married?

Gautam Rode: Honestly, we knew each other for the past two years and so there are not many changes in our life. It’s just that our relationship has changed from boyfriend-girlfriend to husband and wife. So now, I introduce Pankhury as my wife instead of my girlfriend (laughs). Otherwise, it’s more or less the same.

Pankhury: There’s not much change in our lives; it’s been just one month now. Yes, we have moved in together and definitely when you start staying together, you get closer to the person. So yes, I am enjoying this phase of being married (smiles).

So, is there any post side-effect of marriage?

Pankhury: It’s been just a month now since the wedding and so it’s too early to talk about (laughs). But yes, there are lot of things I have started noticing about Gautam after marriage. I have realized that some of the things he does are very funny. For example, after every few hours, he touches his abs (laughs).

Gautam: Are, ye to zaruri hai naa, abhi abhi shaadi hui hai (laughs). Honestly, I have been eating a lot these days and have no time to work out. So, I keep touching my abs to see whether it is still existing or not. It’s an old habit…!

Both of you rule on the small screen industry; but what is the status in the house? Has anybody set a rulebook?

Gautam: No, we don’t need any rule book; we know each other in and out now. It’s just that our two years relationship has got a certificate of marriage. Rest, nothing has changed at all. There is no rule as such to follow in our relationship.

Pankhury: Yeah, I totally agree with Gautam on this. In fact, he has started loving me more.

Also, your marriage was a private affair…

Pankhury: We both wanted a destination wedding. After taking permissions from our family members, it turned out to be a dream cum true wedding for us. We didn’t even realize that it would come out so nicely.

Gautam: Our wedding preparations took three months and trust me, we did not do anything in these three months apart from the arrangement. The way it came out was amazing. We weren’t expecting our marriage to be so nice. All our family members and friends enjoyed our wedding. It was the big moment for us and the way it turned out was something we were not expecting at all.

Lastly, your fans have seen you both together in serial Suryaputra Karn; any plans to come together again?

Gautam: If anything offered interesting, I would really love to take up and work with Pankhury once again.

Pankhury: I would love to (smiles).
