Actor Ram Kapoor is going to make a comeback on the small screen after a long gap. The actor, who has given hit shows like Kasamh Se and Bade Achche Lagte Hai, will turn host for an upcoming reality show Zindagi Ke Crossroads.
At the launch of the event, Ram was asked about comparisons drawn with Salman Khan on the hosting front since Salman Khan’s Dus Ka Dum will also go on air on the same channel.
To which, Ram Kapoor replied, “Agar main kabhi bhi apne aapko Salman Khan ke saath compare karun yaa unko apna competition maanu to usse pahle main apne aapko goli maar dunga (laughs). Wo Salman Khan hai (I think I will shoot myself before comparing myself to Salman Khan. I haven't even thought of it. He is THE Salman Khan.)
About Zindagi Ke Crossroads:
This show is bigger than anyone of us. While I would refrain from giving opinions, I will do get the people to share their views openly. I like to host some shows like this one. This is me being myself. I am not trying to be somebody else. I am doing something which I find very meaningful which is why I am excited about it.
On turning a producer:
While interacting with the media sections, the 44-year-old actor also opened up on turning a producer. “I had thought about producing a show. But when your career is going well and you are busy all the time, I don't think it's the right time to produce (shows) because whenever I do decide to produce, I would like to do it fully. I would put all my time into that. And for that, I have to stop acting. Right now is not the time to do that because acting is going well.”
On Naagin:
Ram Kapoor is willing to explore different genres but mythology and supernatural shows like "Naagin" are not part of his to-do list.
"I don't mind these kind of shows ('Naagin') being made because obviously that's what the audience wants right now which is fine. It is important to give the audience what they want. But no, I would never do a show like that. I cannot see myself doing something like a mythology or 'Naagin' kind of a show. I have to do things that touch me and I can relate to."
On Bigg Boss:
Another show that the actor would never take up is "Bigg Boss", a reality show."I am a very private person. To be that way where everyone can see you, I don't relate to it. Also, I can't be away from my family for three or four months," concluded Ram Kapoor.
