Sunidhi Chauhan opens up about her television comeback and motherhood: I'm on a high

After a gap of almost six years, Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan is all set to judge a television reality show. She will be judging the second season of the singing reality show – Dil Hai Hindustani along with singer-composer Pritam and rapper Badshah.

In a media interaction, Sunidhi opened up about her comeback on television, work post motherhood and many more.

Here’s what she said:

On judging Dil Hai Hindustani:

"Personally, I am very happy to be associated with Star Plus because I feel that there would be no better platform than Dil Hai Hindustani for my comeback. I really liked the first season and judging a show where people participate from across the globe and showcase their love for India has been a beautiful experience so far. I have shot for few episodes and it was like a treat for me since I got to see so many talents on one platform. So far, it has been a wonderful experience."

On how life has changed after becoming a mother:

"Life has been easy post motherhood; whatever I am doing currently – from recording to shows; I am enjoying it. My son, Tegh is just five years old and wherever I go, he is with me. I am really enjoying this phase of my life. I don’t think there’s any better experience than motherhood. I am on a high; I don’t get sleep. But I am enjoying it. In fact, the life has become easy and happier as compared to what I had thought before motherhood. There’s no change in my professional life at all."

On singing Main Badhiya, Tu Bhi Badhiya song from Sanju:

"Most of the people still have no idea that the song has sung by me (laughs). And whosoever knows about it were surprised. I was briefed by Raju Hirani sir that the song has to be sung like the people in the old days, to create sense of nostalgia. It was a difficult task; but somehow I managed it. I am really waiting for audience response to it."

On how Dil Hai Hindustani is different from Indian Idol:

"Indian Idol was a totally different show; whereas Dil Hai Hindustani is all about celebrating Indian music. More than judging, I will be pushing the good talents forward; that’s what my role will be unlike the previous one."

"The experience of shooting with Pritam and Badshah was great. Yes, we do have different opinions but thankfully, all three of us are on the same page."
