Here comes the good news for all the fans of Barkha Bisht! The dusky actress who was last seen in serial Shrimaan Shrimati Phir Se will be soon seen in one of the episode of Laal Ishq, the show which presents passionate love stories with a supernatural twist.
When contacted Barkha Bisht to know more about her character, she shared, “This story is set up in 1980’s so that was the different thing to start with because our looks were different and the entire atmosphere was different. It’s the story of a husband - wife and their child where the wife (played by me) experiences some supernatural twist in her life. It’s her journey about how she fights with those powers in the end. It’s a very simple story which has a happy ending.”
So, does Barkha Bisht believe in super natural powers in real life too? “Well, I believe in God and so with that I believe in supernatural powers too. However, I have never experienced anything but I do believe that there is something like that,” the actress said.
Few days back, Barkha Bisht made news when she refused to play Shaheer Sheikh’s mother in Anirudh Pathak’s upcoming historical serial, Mughal-E-Azam. Barkha was offered to play Jodha's role in the magnum opus. The iconic character is the mother of Salim on whom the show is based.
However, after giving a look test, the actress rejected to be a part of the project. Sengupta was apparently quite kicked about the project but when she got to know that she will have to play a mother of a matured man (Shaheer Sheikh) on screen she was taken aback.
When questioned about it, the actress said, “Obviously, I don’t think I would physically look the age and thus, would not be able to justify the character. I don’t mind playing the mother of 10-11 year old child, but playing the mother of 34 year old boy is totally no for me.”
On work front, Barkha Bisht has been part of various TV projects including Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, Kkavyanjali, Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai, Ye Hai Aashiqui, Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman, Tenali Rama, Naamkaran and few more.
