Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney’s first MET Gala debut made headlines for all the wrong reasons. A viral TikTok video circulating online suggests that the 24-year-old actress was cat-called during her red carpet appearance.
A TikToker pointed out that Syndey was subjected to inappropriate comments made by a male photographer or reporter at the Metropolitan Museum of Art while she was posing for pictures. The video, which was originally posted by New York Times Fashion & Style account, has the paparazzi screaming to the actress, Does anyone have boobs like you down there?" "Come on, show us those boobs!" Sweeney can be seen reacting to the comment for a second and later chose to laugh it off.

This whole episode had the Twitterati fuming with rage. Netizens expressed disappointment over the fact that women are not safe anywhere, even at a full-blown public event, as big as the MET Gala. Check out the tweets below:

The fact that Sydney Sweeney got heckled by photographers to “show her boobs” at the met is beyond disgusting. I’m not surprised that sexual harassment happens but the fact that that person wasn’t removed is beyond me. Where is fucking decorum?

Owing to the whole fiasco, the spokesperson for the Met Gala issued a statement. “This was just brought to our attention — and we are neither clear if the allegation is accurate nor who the reporter may have been — yet surely we would not condone any of our guests being treated in this unprofessional manner,” said the concerned persona as reported by Just Jared.
It’s 2022 and women, celebrity or not, are still subjected to eve-teasing. Will this ever stop?
