150 years of MET! From the theme to the hosts, here's everything you need to know about MET Gala 2020

The most awaited (and the only one) Monday of the year has to be in the month of May...why you ask? It's the Met Gala, people!

This year will mark 150 years of the MET museum and oh boy, it's gonna be a much bigger deal than we expect it to be!

It's that time! Thrilled to announce the @metcostumeinstitute spring 2020 exhibition, “About Time: Fashion and Duration," opening May 7 with the #MetGala on May 4. #MetAboutTime will trace fashion from 1870 to today along a disruptive timeline, as part of The Met's 150th anniversary celebration. Employing philosopher Henri Bergson’s concept of la durée—time that flows, accumulates, and is indivisible—the show will explore how clothes generate temporal associations that conflate the past, present, and future. The concept will also be examined through the writings of Virginia Woolf, who will serve as the “ghost narrator” of the exhibition. Learn more at the link in bio. Marking their special anniversary, the theme for the gala is 'About Time: Fashion and Duration'. Well, interesting isn't it?

Max Hollein, the director of Met, said,"This exhibition will consider the ephemeral nature of fashion, employing flashbacks and fast-forwards to reveal how it can be both linear and cyclical,"

Along with Anna Wintour(Editor-in-chief, Vogue), Meryl Streep (Oscar-winning actress), Emma Stone(Oscar-winning actress), Nicholas Ghesquiere (Creative director, Louis Vuitton) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Broadway actor and composer) will co-chair the gala.

The gala is set to be hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on May 4, 2020.
