The official awards season in Hollywood has finally kicked off with the prestigious Golden Globes Awards 2020. Golden Globes, unlike the upcoming Oscars 2020, will honour not only films but also television shows. The stunning 77th Golden Globes ceremony which is organised by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association took place on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and telecast in India on Monday, January 6, 2020. In attendance at the awards ceremony were the who's who of Hollywood including Beyonce and Jay-Z.
However, unlike the rest of the celebrities, Queen Bey and Jay-Z didn't walk the red carpet and made a surprise entry during comedian Kate McKinnon's introduction speech for Ellen DeGeneres' Carol Burnett Award. They paused until Kate completed the speech and then took their seats. Beyonce marked her presence at the Golden Globes Awards after nearly 10 years. For the do, she was seen in a golden sleeved outfit while Jay-Z was in formals. Beyonce is nominated for the Best Original Song - Motion Picture for her The Lion King track Spirit.
In India, the Golden Globes Awards 2020 will be telecast on Comedy Central India, Vh1 India and Colors Infinity from 7: 30 am on Monday, January 6. However, it won't be a live telecast owing to an hour delay. The event will yet again telecast on the same three channels at 9 pm on Monday. Apart from the channels, one can watch the ceremony on Airtel Xstream, JioTV and the Vodafone Play app.
