Textile Minister Smriti Irani appeals to the textile and apparel industries to do commerce with compassion amidst COVID-19 Pandemic

With the Pandemic of COVID-19 raging across the globe, the fashion industry amongst many others has come to a standstill. Owing to the public safety many big fashion labels have closed the doors of their workshops and stores as well as ensured a paid leave to all its workers.

Amidst this lethal crisis, Minister of Textiles, Smt Smriti Irani made an appeal to all the textile buyers to stand together in these tough times as one big family and do commerce, with compassion. Check out the video below:

The textile minister described the war against the virus as the testament to humanity. “Now the world is engulfed with Coronavirus and our fight against it will be a testament to humanity. Today I appeal to all the buyers and buying houses of the Indian textiles and apparel industry.”

She further continued and appealed to the big buying houses and apparel industries to not cancel the orders. She even said that the delivery schedules and payment plans can be taken care of as long as the textile, as well as the apparel industry and the government, stand together. “For years you have enjoyed the craftsmanship of our textile industry. Today I appeal to you, stand together. Let’s show the world that we can do commerce with compassion. Do not cancel a single order that has been placed. Delivery schedules can be rebuked, payment plans can be extended, if we decide to work together”

Well, in tough situations like these, it’s time to show that we can indeed do commerce with compassion!
