The ace designer took it to his social media and urged people to ‘buy Indian’ and ‘save the Indian economy’. He mentioned that every Indian citizen is a stakeholder of the Indian economy and has the power to shape it effectively. “Every Indian citizen is a stakeholder of the Indian economy. It is within our collective will and power to dramatically reshape the way our economy works and who benefits the most from it the most. People at the top need to realize that if the bottom topples, everyone, including them, will come crashing down. This is the time- for all of us to promote and purchase Indian products and celebrate our heritage.”, read an excerpt from his statement.

He also said that this is our opportunity to give Indian industries power and support the small scale retailers, businessmen and in turn, the Indian economy. “This is our opportunity to give Indian Grassroot industries power – travel, food, clothing, architecture, art, and entertainment. Our support helps them hire more people, create more jobs, building cycle of empowerment and finally strengthening our stable economic growth from the ground up”, he concluded.
