Fashion Design Council of India to launch its first-ever digital fashion week amidst COVID crisis

As the world still continues to battle with the COVID-19 pandemic, many industries are trying to find its way to return back to normalcy including fashion.

But as they say, the show must go on! With major red carpet events and fashion shows being called off to curb the global crisis, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has come up with an innovative approach to launch its first virtual fashion week.

The FDCI shared an announcement post on its social media platform confirming the same. Pressing the reset button, the council asked the viewers and fashion enthusiasts to stay tuned for ‘India’s first-ever digital fashion week’. Recently, Milan and Paris Fashion Week also ditched the traditional runway and opted for digital fashion shows to ensure the continuity in the fashion fraternity.

With the virus still disrupting our lives, going digital was the best bet for these fashion institutions. What are your thoughts on this?
