Veteran choreographer Saroj Khan, breathed her last on July 3, at a hospital in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest. She was suffering from severe diabetes and age-related illness and was reportedly admitted a couple of days ago after she complained of breathlessness, dizziness and sore throat. The demise of B-town’s beloved ‘Masterji’ has sent the film as well as the fashion fraternity into mourning. Ace designer Manish Malhotra also grieved over the loss of Bollywood’s favorite choreographer.
Amongst the iconic gems that Saroj Khan gave to the industry, Kalank’s ‘Tabaah Ho Gaye’ featuring her favorite student Madhuri Dixit Nene, happens to be one of them. Manish, who was the costume designer for the film, shared a BTS video of the iconic number and gave an ode to the legendary choreographer.
Malhotra shared a video of Madhuri swaying to the beats of the song choreographed by her. “This is the last time I worked with her when she #callobrated with @remodsouza for this song #tabahhogaye for #kalank and it was such a fabulous artistic feeling to see @sarojkhanofficial dance direct the incredible and both of them magical have worked on some iconic songs together,” Manish captioned his post.
Other than Tabah Ho Gaye, Saroj Khan also choreographed numerous chartbuster songs for Madhuri including Chane Ke Khet Mein, Mera Piya Ghar Aaya, Choli Ke Peeche, Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, Tamma Tamma Loge, Hum Ko Aaj Kal Hai, Dola Re Dola, Ek Do Teen among others.
