Looks like 2020 can’t seem to catch a break as another angel from the showbiz left for heavenly abode. On Wednesday, model-turned-designer Simar Dugal passed away, after her long battle with cancer. Before tuning a designer for her ethnic wear label, Simar was one of India’s top supermodels who broke the stereotypes back then and continued to hit the ramp even after her marriage. Her namesake designer brand was known for its elegant kurtis with wild floral prints and exuded a bohemian vibe. She was a prominent name in the fashion arena indeed.
The film and the fashion industry both mourned the loss of Dugal. Celebrities, models and fashion designers across the nation poured in their heartfelt condolences.
Actress-model Malaika Arora shared a heartbreaking post about the designer and stated that she can’t stop her tears. Models and designers like Sophie Choudry, Manish Malhotra, Shweta Bachchan, Amrita Arora, Seema Khan, Neha Dhupia and others commented on Malla’s post.
Designer Vikram Phadnis offered his condolences to the former supermodel.
Actress Lara Dutta Bhupati wrote kind words and paid a tribute.
Rest in peace my beautiful, lovely #SimarDugal . You were the warmest, most genuine, loving soul to know. Strength and prayers to your family.

To an outsider in the fashion world as a compere there was always your reassuring smile and sweetness. One of the people who made me feel comfortable in my highly unfashionable clothes in my early RJ days. Always warm, always positive. RIP#SimarDugal https://t.co/IEwff204rQ
