'May the angels sing to you in heaven,' says Malaika Arora, Vikram Phadnis and others on model-turned-designer Simar Dugal’s sad demise due to cancer

Looks like 2020 can’t seem to catch a break as another angel from the showbiz left for heavenly abode. On Wednesday, model-turned-designer Simar Dugal passed away, after her long battle with cancer. Before tuning a designer for her ethnic wear label, Simar was one of India’s top supermodels who broke the stereotypes back then and continued to hit the ramp even after her marriage. Her namesake designer brand was known for its elegant kurtis with wild floral prints and exuded a bohemian vibe. She was a prominent name in the fashion arena indeed.

The film and the fashion industry both mourned the loss of Dugal. Celebrities, models and fashion designers across the nation poured in their heartfelt condolences.
