Even though the Annual gala of CFDA Fashion Awards did not witness a glamour quotient or a star-studded red carpet this year, but that didn’t stop the fashion circuit to celebrate and felicitate America’s top designers. The event that was originally scheduled on June 8 was first postponed and then canceled untimely owing to the global pandemic. With many changes that this new-normal world had to offer, the organization body conducted its event virtually on websites and social media platforms, rather than handing out the trophy in a star-studded ceremony.
On Monday, September 14, Chairman of the CFDA board, Tom Ford announced its list of winners that won big this year. Being slightly different from the last time, there were no categories for Fashion Icon, Positive Change, Founder's, Media, Lifetime Achievement this year. Instead, two new categories -Global Women's Designer of the Year and Global Men's Designer of the Year were added. Check out the winners below:
American Womenswear Designer of the Year: Gabriela Hearst
American Menswear Designer of the Year: Kerby Jean-Raymond for Pyer Moss
American Accessories Designer of the Year: Telfar Clemens for Telfar
American Emerging Designer of the Year: Christopher John Rogers
International Women’s Designer of the Year: Pierpaolo Piccioli for Valentino
International Men’s Designer of the Year: Kim Jones for Dior
