What could have been an important fashion month of the Lakme Fashion Week is now restricted to virtual fashion shows, courtesy COVID- 19 pandemic. Replacing front rows for laptop and mobile screens, the organizers have decided to go on with a brand new, season-fluid avatar of LFW this year. Though the date is yet to be out, we can’t wait to check out this digital format already!
All set to steal the spotlight this year is designer Aneeth Arora’s Pero with its quirky concept that’s much needed during these dull times of pandemic.
Called Disco 2020, this Fall/Winter collection would be featured at LFW in a form of a fashion film. “This showcase is a glimpse of what’s in store at the upcoming digital edition of Lakmé Fashion Week where we once again push the boundaries of Indian Fashion and look forward to future collaborations with Péro,” said Nikhita Punja Bhimjyani, head - fashion events, IMG Reliance as stated by Vogue India.
Looking at the glimpse of this collection on the label’s social media space, Disco 2020 promises a lot of spunky, upbeat and groovy party-wear backed by retro elements. Bold prints, stripes and florals along with vibrant hues, quirky frills and flowing dresses…we are in luck for a sartorial treat!
Speaking about the upcoming collection, Aneeth said, “The brand always believed in work hard and party harder. After a long year of hard work, I felt that the time is right to put out something positive.”
Well, we can’t wait. What about you?
