Speaking of how they came in touch with each other, Anisha and Rochelle revealed that they have been styling his fiancée Richa Chadha for a while when Ali wanted them to style him for Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s reception. It’s been two years since then and the trio has never looked back.
Talking about his style, the duo revealed that Ali likes a retro touch to his look and prefers to make one statement piece a hero of the look. “Ali likes us to add a touch of the ’60s and ’70s and prefers the look to revolve around one statement piece like a pair of pleated pants or a well-tailored double-breasted jacket; the rest of the pieces can be simple. The stylists also revealed that the actor isn’t the one to shy away from experimentation. “He’s open to experimenting with jewellery but doesn’t care for bright colours. He prefers neutrals with an occasional pop of solid colours,” they continued.
When it comes to his personal style, Ali loves all things casual. Give him a white Lucknowi chikankari kurta with a pair of denim. You can top the kurta with a jacket or just a shawl, and sunglasses, and he’s good to go, said the stylists. Talking about their work equation, Anisha and Rochelle said, “Now that we know what he likes, we pick up pieces and style him according to the event, unless there’s a brief. Of course, we style him differently each time.” Ali believes in repeating things. “He’s not averse to repeating elements which is the way forward because it’s sustainable,” they stated.
While describing his fashion sense, the ladies stated he has a good old Hollywood charm. “His fashion sense is old school Hollywood and international, so even when he is representing India at a global platform, we don’t have to change much. He fits right in with his classic good looks and suave manner,” the duo concluded.
