Actors Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, and Dia Mirza have joined forces for a noble cause. With an aim to ‘each one, teach one,’ the trio has decided to auction their personal belongings in order to raise funds for four free libraries for children in Delhi and Gurugram under The Community Library Project’s initiative. The online auction is all set to take place between December 19 & 20, and the proceeds from sales will be used to provide free books to kids and increase digital literacy.
As reported by a leading daily, Abhishek has offered his Kabbadi team, Jaipur Pink Panthers' jackets and tracksuits for charity. Saree naari Vidya has offered one of her gorgeous silk drapes for the auction. "The comfort of libraries allows you to get lost in books. Our country needs many free libraries, where all are welcome. I am glad to see this initiative, and we must do all we can to support this effort," said Vidya.
Eco Warrior Dia has offered one of her bags in exchange for the books for children. "If I didn't have books, I don't know if my life would be as enriched (as it is today). I am contributing a bag in the hope that it helps raise funds," the actress said. Along with her bag, she has also offered some silk sarees from designer Nachiket Barve, Tarun Tahiliani and Anavila Misra to be put up for charity.
So, who is up for some charity auction that backs a noble cause?
