As we inch towards the final moments of 2020, now will be a good time to reflect back on the crazy rollercoaster ride that was this year. Along with other sectors of the society, fashion too, faced a downfall this year as many flagship stores were closed and artisans were jobless for quite a long time. With high-end events getting shelved and major changes being introduced, the face of the fashion industry gradually started changing. Although, changes however they seem like a law of nature, don’t come without their set of challenges, and seems like designer Masaba Gupta, amongst all others faced them as well.
Taking it to her social media account, the designer-turned-actress reflected back on this chaotic year and the sets of challenges it brought with it. Not painting a rosy picture for the fans, she admitted to having ‘sobbed relentlessly’ as she was facing a tough time on the professional front, courtesy global pandemic. However, not the one to sit back and take it, Masaba changed the game for herself. Following her mantra of ‘adapt or die,’ she chose to ride the wave rather than being crushed by it. The result- her namesake brand ‘House of Masaba’ has grown from strength to strength with an increased retail presence offline as well as online on e-commerce sites.
Admitting that now is the right time to create a lot of content, the designer came up with her new series, THIS. IS. MASABA. Starting off with sarees, she showed some fun and trendy ways to drape and style the six-yard staple. In short- ‘Sarees you can groove in, jump in, BE in, laugh in!’ Check out the designer turned actress now acing the role of a digital influencer.
Can’t wait for what’s more in the store in this series.
