Revolutionary French fashion designer Pierre Cardin breathes his last at 98

Even in its final days, seems like 2020 is far from getting over. Amongst the log list of people that left the mortal world, French fashion designer Pierre Cardin joins the list.

Known for his revolutionary and space-age designs, Pierre breathed his last at the American hospital in Neuilly, in the west of Paris, today on December 29, 2020. He was 98. France’s Fine Arts Academy tweeted this unfortunate news and mourned the demise of this legendary designer.

Born to Italian immigrant parents, Pierre was a visionary designer who aced ready-to-wear and unisex clothing and founded his fashion house in 1950. The creative genius behind the famous bubble dress, Cardin was known for his avant-garde style who aced geometric prints and futuristic looks.  

May his soul rest in peace.
