Pandemic or not, digitalization is the future and looks like the fashion fraternity couldn’t agree more. The British Fashion Council (BFC) has partnered with famous social media app Tik Tok for its NewGen talent scheme at the London Fashion Week all set to take place in September 2021.
According to the official announcement shared by BFC, both the parties ‘coming together to create a bespoke programme of activity for all NEWGEN recipients, including streaming support of designer shows, mentoring, masterclasses and digital support for the recipients.’ This partnership aims to enable creative fashion content to spread across the entire social media platform.
“The BFC always understood the changing nature of fashion and led the way in technology and innovation. This is why we are extremely proud to be the first international fashion council to partner with TikTok to support emerging talent, and we look forward to working with the team to showcase the best of what British fashion has to offer,” said Caroline Rush chief executive for the BFC, as reported by the online website, Fashion United.
The NewGen programme has been operational since 1993 and has supported more than 250 upcoming designers. Many established fashion labels like Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane, Christopher Raeburn, Jonathan Anderson, Nicholas Kirkwood, Roksanda Ilini, and Simone Rocha has been a part of NewGen's humble beginnings.
