The gen Z might recognize her as a ‘fabulous Bollywood wife’ but the late ‘80s generation would know jewellery designer Maheep Kapoor as one of the top five finalists from the 1993 Miss India beauty pageant. The Netflix series star, who has been married to actor Sanjay Kapoor dug out old archives to present us a gem of a video from her Miss India finale days, 28 years later.
Maheep shared a clip from the video wherein the finalists were being asked the winning question. Apart from Maheep, we saw two more similar B-town faces namely model Pooja Batra and Miss India 1993 titleholder Namrata Shirodkar. We also saw glimpses of anchor Archana Puran Singh and actress Sangeeta Bijlani. Check out the video below:
In the video, Maheep was seen flaunting a chic LBD accessorized with dainty pearls along with a stash pinned across her shoulder. When asked by the jury, what would she do if she realizes there is a creepy crawly in her dress while walking on the runway of a live fashion show, Maheep replied, “I’d shake around and walk on.”
Bringing back a wave of nostalgia, former Miss India Namrata commented on her post saying, That’s the two of us sharing a stage,” along with lovestruck emojis. Actress-model Malaika Arora praised Maheep’s pageant answer and commented, "Moheeepssssss u still shake it n walk on woman,” whereas daughter Shanaya Kapoor showered praise and love with heart emojis.
Last seen in Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives alongside BFFS Bhavana Pandey, Neelam Kothari Soni and Seema Khan, Maheep is gearing up for season 2 of the famous Netflix series. On the other hand, her daughter Shanaya is gearing up for her big Bollywood debut under Karan Johar’s Dharma Production banner.
