Vogue surprised us with not one but two interesting news! Not only did they finally announced the theme of this year’s MET Gala but also the co-chairs and the honorary chairs of this year’s celebration of the exhibition. One of the most anticipated annual events of the fashion world, the exhibition is coming back after a hiatus of two shows due to the pandemic.
This time, it is the very independence from the pandemic that is the theme of the show, ‘American Independence.’ After being locked up, isolated within our homes for more than a challenging year and a half, we will see the freedom to travel, to meet people, and celebrate life with the help of some glitz and glam that the celebrities have to offer with their much-anticipated outfits.

The amazing co-chairs to host the show are inaugural poet Amanda Gorman, singer Billie Eilish, tennis star Naomi Osaka, and actor Timothée Chalamet. Some honorary chairs include Tom Ford, Adam Mosseri, and Anna Wintour. The Costume Institute’s next exhibition, which is scheduled to run its course from September 2021 to September 2022, has two separate shows lined up, the first show being ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’ and ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion.’
Billie Eilish has become the youngest co-chair to ever host the event.
We can’t wait to see what all artists have in store for us!
