Let’s face it, Sabyasachi Mukherjee is no new name for controversial topics and this time the ace designer is under fire for his latest advertisement campaign featuring his ‘Intimate Fine Jewellery’ collection.
Sabya, on Wednesday, shared some pictures of his latest jewellery collection featuring the Bengal Tiger Icon collection of necklaces, earrings and signet rings. What did not sit well with a certain section of the social media users was the advertisement campaign featuring the label’s Royal Bengal Mangalsutra 1.2.
The ad photoshoot featured models dressed in revealing clothes wearing the iconic and as termed by netizens 'sacred' mangalsutra. In one of the promotional pictures, a model posed in an intimate position resting her head on a shirtless model. Many criticized the designer for his ‘distasteful campaign’ and called it vulgar. ‘This is no lingerie Ad’ posted one, ‘Does showing so much skin justify ‘Intimate jewellery’?’, commented another. Check out the comments below:
No! This is no lingerie or Condom Ad.
This is Sabyasachi Mangalsutra Ad.
Ultra Woke #Sabyasachi is so creatively bankrupt that he had to use semi naked models for a Mangalsutra ad. pic.twitter.com/TZhT5XtGz5

Wtf is wrong with #Sabyasachi?
Is this how he is going to sell Mangalsutra? Showing bossom more than mangalsutra, distressed look on the bride's face, and a gay man wearing it?
I didn't expect him go so woke to this level. All respect is gone.#wokeads #sick pic.twitter.com/BulH6NDVwf
