Actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer husband Virat Kohli attended the wedding of Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell, who tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Vini Raman, in a traditional Indian ceremony followed by a big fat reception party. They were joined by Virat’s IPL team, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s cricketers along with their families including South African player Faf du Plessis and his wife Imari.
While Virat became instantly famous for his 'Oo Antava' dance at the party, his wife Anushka hit the headlines for other sweet reasons!
Days after the wedding, Imari shared images from the wedding wherein she was seen flaunting an emerald green chanderi saree with a golden zardosi border and delicate butti detailing. She kept her hair open and opted for a barely-there makeup to finish her ethnic look. However, fans were quick to notice that Nush wore a similar saree for an event in the past. Many fans enquired about the same in the comments of the post. ‘From where you get this saree it's Anushka,” wrote one, “Waitt isn't that Anushka Sharma's saree,” said another.
Putting end to all the speculations, Imari, who happens to share the same birthday with Anushka, confirmed that she indeed borrowed the actress’ saree with a witty birthday wish. "Thank you for sharing your birthday and saree with me," she captioned her Instagram story shared by one of Virat’s fan clubs.
For the unversed, Anushka wore this stunning saree for the 34th edition of the Priyadarshini Academy Global Awards held at Mumbai in 2018 where she was honoured with the Smita Patil Award. The diva went full throttle traditional opting for a statement neckpiece and a delicate bindi. A radiant glam and locks tied in a neat bun put together her look, effortlessly.
