Harnaaz Sandhu created history in December 2021 when she became the third woman to represent India and win the coveted crown as Miss Universe 2022. Years before her, Sushmita Sen and Lara Datta had succeeded in bringing glory to India. Now, almost a year later, Harnaaz Sandhu had ended her reign as Miss Universe and crowned the winner of the 2022 Miss Universe, R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States.
Sandhu walked her last walk looking marvelous. Her gown as a whole was a tribute to the 1994 Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and the 2000 Miss Universe Lara Dutta, since it displayed their crowning moments from their respective pageants. Let’s check it out.
The fabulous gown was designed by an ace fashion designer Saisha Shinde, the stunner who also created Harnaaz’s winning gown. She has once again proved her mettle and is winning hearts for the tribute. “For the finale walk as Reigning Miss Universe, I couldn’t thank Saisha Shinde and her team enough for making this dream gown come true!”, she wrote.
However, the entire gown, not just the back, represented the actual beauty of this gown. The two-piece outfit consisted of a big tulle skirt with a dramatic trail and a form-fitting black gown with a tone-on-tone sequined contour pattern that traced the outfit. In the back, you can see the deep backless design that extended to her dramatic bow. The plunging neckline extended to a mesh glittery cutout design on the side. With her signature flair of drop earrings, smoky eyes, nude lips, and wavy hair her look was put together.
By creating history with her stunning victory in the Miss Universe pageant, and also paying special homage to Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta in their glories by having their faces printed on her dress, Harnaaz left all of us in awe. At first glimpse, you couldn't help but grin with pride.
