Sealed with a tattoo! The billion-dollar success of Avengers: Infinity War, and the decade milestone of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saw the original Avengers cast members celebrating 10 years together as co-workers and friends. In a permanent marker of their connection, Robert Downey Jr has revealed that five out of six of the original Avengers have got matching tattoos.

The actor, who plays the much loved Iron Man, has shared a video of himself as he was being inked with the Avengers logo. He also shared that while Mark Ruffalo opted out, the tattoo artist also got a similar tat. The whole thing was apparently the brainwave of Scarlett Johansson, and she and Chris Evans got theirs done in New York.

In the inimitable Robert’s words, “Then, their New York guy, Josh Lord, who is amazing, flew out to LA, he did me, did (Jeremy) Renner, and then we just bullied (Chris) Hemsworth into doing it, and he got it… And each one of us drew a line on the artist with his own tattoo gun and it was a total massacre. Each of us contributed to giving the tattoo artist the sixth tattoo that he designed for us.”

Zany as ever, the Iron Man, shared a series of photos and videos on Instagram showing off the new body art. He can be seen wearing a head torch in a video, as he prepares to ink the tattoo artiste Josh Lord. He can be heard asking, “Where is my practice run?” In his usual tongue in cheek way, he captioned the Instagram post: “@avengers part 1… They say it’s better to give than to receive …”

He also shared a video of his finished tattoo, writing: “That, sir, is very very nice.”
This common tattoo is clearly a sign of the original 'Avengers’ brotherhood, as Robert wrote, “Now we are one…” Always were!
