'Complicated' singer Avril Lavigne all set to come back with new single soon

Pop singer Avril Lavigne who is best known for her hit songs like Complicated, Girlfriend, Here's To Never Growing up, was bedridden for the past few years because of Lyme disease. However, she recently announced that she is ready to get back in the game. In fact, she plans on releasing her brand new single, Head Above Water, on September 19, this year.

The singer said that the last few years dealing with Lyme disease - a condition caused by black-legged ticks - were the most emotionally and physically exhausting days. In an earlier interview, she said that she looked forward to days after the disease and felt that it was like "a second chance at life." Her upcoming single is first of the many songs that she wrote during these days, she mentioned on her website.

Avril added, "I wrote songs in my bed and on the couch and recorded there mostly as well. Words and lyrics that were so true to my experience came pouring out of me effortlessly. Truly... by keeping my spirits up, having goals to reach and a purpose to live for, my music helped to heal me and keep me alive."

Apart from concentrating on music, Avril also plans on spreading awareness about the disease. She mentioned that she will talk about it even if that made her vulnerable, more than ever, and will talk about it even though she doesn't want to. "Because not only is it a part of my life, I need to bring awareness to the severity of Lyme Disease."

Avril, who has been a popular performer making the crowd go gaga, said, "I want more than ANYTHING to be back on stage. To be holding my guitars and running around. To sing my heart out and travel around the world to see all of my fans. I will do EVERYTHING I can to get back up on stage, to travel, to sing to you, to work again."
