Moonlight actor Mahershala Ali has bagged the role in the science-fiction movie Sovereign directed by Marc Munden. The film's screenplay will be written by A Quiet Place writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods reports variety.com.
Entertainment One will co-produce the film with 21 Laps Entertainment's Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Dan Cohen.
Nick Meyer, eOne's president of the film said, "We have long loved this project and have been patiently waiting until we found the right leading actor, which we no doubt have found in the incredibly talented Mahershala Ali."
With Green Book, Ali grabbed his second Oscar, the first being an award for Moonlight in 2017.
