OTT platform Netflix has signed a three-project deal with singer Beyonce Knowles which reportedly is worth a whopping $60 million.
The Crazy in Love singer will be credited as an executive producer, writer, and director in the deal for which Netflix is supposed to be shelling out $20 million, said sources.
A documentary called Homecoming premiered on April 17, which gave fans some behind-the-scenes footage of the singer’s 2018 Coachella performance. The special has sent fans into a frenzy with its larger-than-life visuals of song and dance. The first of the three Netflix specials have already reaffirmed Queen Bey’s brilliance.
Sources said that Netflix had to compete against HBO, who have had a long relationship with Beyonce over the years, to come up with a better offer for the singer.
With the release of Homecoming, Beyonce also surprised fans by dropping a 40-track album that included two bonus cuts near the end: Before I Let Go and I Been On.
