It’s a cruel summer so far for Leonardo DiCaprio.The Academy Award winner was spotted at a beach volleyball court in Malibu, where he also spent last year's hottest months horsing around with his celebrity bro pals. But this time, while facing off against none other than Robin Thicke, harrowing photos show what appears to be a bump-pass-gone-wrong, whacking Leonardo in his face.

Leo’s summertime gladness typically includes beach volleyball with his 'Bu Crew', which last year included the likes of Ansel Elgort; snorkelling in charming Italian fishing villages with girlfriend Camila Morrone; and making out atop Citibikes. The picture, which has now gone viral on the internet, shows the actor playing a game and taking a hit to his face.

Here’s hoping no permanent damage was done and his summer shenanigans can continue apace. 

The actor was recently in Cannes, Frances, where he promoted the upcoming film, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, with co-stars Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film is slated to hit theaters on July 26.
