‘I feel like I literally I'm falling apart’, says Kim Kardashian West on testing positive for lupus antibodies on KUWTK

The latest issue on the famous reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians is not about cheating boyfriends but about a potential health scare. Yes, you read that right, Kim Kardashian West who has been pretty vocal about her psoriasis has opened up on the show’s latest season premiere in a tearful segment, revealing that she has been tested positive for lupus antibodies. She has been having symptoms like nausea, joint pains and swollen limbs. However, testing positive for lupus antibodies does not mean that the reality star has been diagnosed with it as the two mean different things. Apparently, Kim was pretty psyched up about it and thought her symptoms were a result of rheumatoid arthritis but later decided to get a professional opinion.

In the episode, Kim says, “I've been feeling so tired, so nauseous and my hands are really getting swollen. I feel like I literally am falling apart. My hands are numb. It's so scary. So, I have to go to the doctor and see what's going on because I can't live like this." Later in the episode, her tests come positive and she seemed pretty upset about it but her doctor explained that testing positive does not mean that she will have either of the autoimmune diseases, it only means that her body is producing special proteins to ward off the attack.

Apparently, lupus is a ‘mystery disease’ as it is tricky to diagnose and doctors are still not sure what causes it. Known as a chronic autoimmune system, lupus is a condition where the body's immune system can't recognize the difference between healthy tissues and invaders like viruses and bacteria. As a result, the body produces antibodies in anticipation and attack healthy tissues.

Kim did not disclose what happened in her follow-up visit to the doctor but we’re sure she will share more about her health issues in the coming episodes of the show as she has been pretty vocal about her other ailments.
