Frances McDormand takes a solitary walk that reeks of desolation and survival among nomads in ‘Nomadland’ teaser

The teaser of Frances McDormand’s new film Nomadland, directed by Chloé Zhao has dropped. In the teaser Frances drifts through a vast campground, with a walk that seems compelling. The park is not your usual playground but is a mobile home camp that quietly and fervently sets the mood of desolation and survival, something that will resonate with all of us who are going through the pangs of the coronavirus pandemic.

Nomadland, chronicles the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada, where Fern (Frances McDormand) packs her van and sets off on the road exploring a life outside of conventional society as a modern-day nomad. Nomadland features real nomads Linda May, Swankie and Bob Wells as Fern’s mentors and comrades in her exploration through the vast landscape of the American West.
