The Lion King 2 will be a prequel

Last year Jon Favreau’s The Lion King stirred up a storm across the globe raking in a whopping $1.6 billion globally. So it was quite obvious that the makers would cash in on the popularity. It was being rumoured that the upcoming film will be a combination of a prequel and a sequel. However, on the occasion of Disney Investor Day 2020 announcements, it was revealed that the film will be a prequel Barry Jenkins to helm the film as director and Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams and Nicholas Britell as composers.

A prequel to the live-action The Lion King is in development from @BarryJenkins, director of the Oscar-winning film Moonlight. @HansZimmer, @Pharrell Williams, and @NicholasBritell will provide the music.

Game of Thrones prequel House of Dragon gets its lead cast

Game of Thrones prequel House of Dragon has got its three main leads in Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, and Matt Smith. Olivia Cooke will play Alicent Hightower, daughter of Otto Hightower the Hand of the King, and the most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms. Matt Smith will play Daemon Targaryen while Emma Darcy will play Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.

FKA Twigs sues Shia LaBeouf over claims of sexual abuse

FKA Twigs has filed a lawsuit against her former boyfriend Shia LaBeouf for alleged ‘relentless abuse’. She has claimed that while in a relationship with him she was the victim of sexual battery, assault and emotional distress. The suit also claims that the actor gave the singer STD along with several graphic and disturbing allegations. FKA Twigs is suing Shia for unspecified damages. 

She spoke about her ordeal in a series of tweets and urged everyone to speak out against domestic violence and sexual abuse.

Natalie Portman admits being sexualized as a child, says it affected her

Natalie Portman has opened up about the difficulties she has faced as an actress, particularly during her younger days of work. The Oscar winner spoke about the sexualization of children and the detrimental impact that had on her private life. She said, “Being sexualized as a child took way my own sexuality. It scared me. So many people had this impression of me being very serious, prudish and conservative as I grew up. I consciously cultivated that because it was my way of making myself feel safe.”

She further added, “If someone respects you, they won't make you feel objectified. I was definitely aware of how they portrayed me. Mainly in the type of journalism that existed when the films came out. The only way I could be sure was to say that I was conservative and serious and that I had to be respected, and that I'm smart, so not to look at me that way."
