Britney Spears’ boyfriend Sam Asghari has spoken out against her father James Spears aka Jamie Spears. Taking to his Instagram stories, he wrote a scathing message for the pop icon’s dad amid the buzz surrounding the new documentary Framing Britney Spears. The documentary examines Britney’s career and offers “a new assessment of the movement rallying against her court-mandated conservatorship.” Britney’s father Jamie has been acting as the singer’s conservator since 2008 after the court granted him the status following a very emotional and mental breakdown from the singer.
In his Instagram Story, Sam wrote that he has “zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way,” in reference to his relationship with the superstar singer. “In my opinion, Jamie is a total dick,” he added. He further continued and wrote, “I won't be going into details because I've always respected our privacy but at the same time I didn't come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom."
The 27-year-old Iranian actor, who met Britney on the set of her Slumber Party music video in 2016, also added a ‘mic drop’ gif. In another interview with a leading portal he spoke about his relationship with the singer and said, “I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves. I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together.”
In a November court hearing, Britney’s lawyer had claimed that she is ‘afraid of her father’ and would not perform until he no longer has control over her career. A ‘Free Britney’ movement has been gaining strength since last year where the fans of the singer wants the conservatorship revoked and the singer gets control over her life, career and finances.
