Marvel director James Gunn reveals his favourite Bollywood film that stars Aamir Khan in the lead

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has revealed that his favourite Hindi film is Aamir Khan’s and Gracy Singh’s Lagaan. While answering a question on whether the filmmaker watched Italian films, a fan asked his thoughts on Indian films. James revealed that he enjoys watching Hindi films and also named his favourite.

"Do you see any Indian movies @JamesGunn sir?" the fan tweeted, to which Gunn replied, "Many. Lagaan is probably my favorite." Several fans responded to his tweet with more Indian movie recommendations. The suggestions were dominated by Aamir Khan-starrers Dangal, Taare Zameen Par, and 3 Idiots.

Lagaan was directed by Ashutosh Gowriker and was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category in 2002. It remains the last Indian film to have been nominated at the Oscars in that category.

Meanwhile, on the work front, James is looking forward to the release of his directorial The Suicide Squad that boasts of a stellar ensemble cast including Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Nathan Fillion, Viola Davis and others.
