20 Years Of Harry Potter: Brush up on your spells as unscripted quiz show and retrospective special will arrive on HBO Max

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, based on J. K. Rowling's 1997 novel of the same name, will be completing 20 years in November 2001. The first film in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone received global appreciation. Now, with a few months left for the film's 20th anniversary, WarnerMedia has officially confirmed an unscripted quiz show and retrospective special. The five nights celebration will air on HBO Max, Cartoon Network and TBS. The dates and time are expected to be announced soon.

The unscripted quiz show will see super fans of the Harry Potter franchise competing as they will answer trivia questions. Special guests are also expected to feature in the four-episode series. The quiz show will lead into a retrospective special as per a report. The game show will also allow an online play-along contestant to participate.

Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics president Tom Ascheim will be overlooking the quiz show and retrospective special which will be executively produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted TV and Warner Horizon. Robin Ashbrook and Yasmin Shackleton will exec produce the quiz show while Casey Patterson will look into the retrospective special. According to reports, J. K. Rowling is not directly involved in either production and Warners collaborated with her team on the content.

In a statement, Tom Ascheim said, "To celebrate the dedicated fans old and new who have passionately kept the Wizarding World magic alive in so many forms for decades, these exciting specials will celebrate their Harry Potter fandom in a must-see multiplatform TV event."

He added, "All Potter fans can gear up for this ultimate one-of-a-kind celebration by embracing their inner Hermione Granger and studying their Wizarding World knowledge. For fans who have always wanted to discover what it might be like to take the O.W.L. exams, this is as close as they are going to get!"
