Captain Marvel 2: South Korean star Park Seo-joon roped in to star alongside Brie Larson in ‘The Marvels’

For fans of Korean dramas, there is some good news as a familiar face would be joining the cast of the sequel to Captain Marvel. Park Seo-joon, who starred in Academy-award winning film Parasite as well as several South Korean shows has been cast in The Marvels.

According to a South Korean portal, Seo-joon has been roped in to star alongside Brie Larson who will be reprising her titular role of Captain Marvel. He will be starting shoot in the second half of 2021 in the US. The film will also star Teyonah Paris, who played Monica Rambeau in the Disney Plus series WandaVision and Inman Vellani as Kamala Khan aka Ms.Marvel, will be in the sequel as well. Zawe Ashton is on board to play the antagonist.

As per reports, the film would be an adaptation of the comic-book event Secret Invasion, which will have its own Disney Plus show. The film is being directed by Nia DaCosta and is slated to release in theatres on November 11, 2022.

Seo-joon is known for his roles in romantic comedies such What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, She Was Pretty as well as the inspiring Itaewon Class.
