Renowned fashion editor and husband to designer Tom Ford, Richard Buckley passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2021 due to natural causes. He was 72.
The social media account of the designer confirmed this news with a sad post. "It is with great sadness that Tom Ford announces the death of his beloved husband of 35 years, Richard Buckley." The social media team of Tom captioned a picture of him and Buckley.

Richard passed away peacefully in his sleep with his husband and their son, Jack by his side. He worked as an Editor-In-Chief of Vogue Hommes International, social editor at Vanity Fair, and fashion editor of Women’s Wear Daily, among other publications. Tom and Richard met in 1986 before getting married in 2014. The couple has an 8-year-old son.
Rest in peace, Richard. Your absence will leave a void that nobody can fulfill.
