The Lost Daughter trailer: Olivia Colman and Dakota Johnson bring a captivating drama in Maggie Gyllenhaal's directorial debut

Netflix has unveiled an intriguing and captivating first trailer for Maggie Gyllenhaal's directorial debut The Lost Daughter starring Olivia Colman, Dakota Johnson, Jessie Buckley, Ed Harris, Peter Sarsgaard, Paul Mescal, Dagmara Domiczyk, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Jack Farthing and many more . The upcoming drama is based on Elena Ferrante's novel of the same name and sees Colman play a middle-aged woman vacationing alone while having flashbacks to her days as a young wife and mother. Her younger self is played by Buckley. Gyllenhaal wrote, directed and produced the R-rated adaptation.

However, she also tells the young mother that "children are a crushing responsibility" , sending red flags about her personality.
