‘It's really about getting some quality time with my kids before they're teenagers who loathe me,’ says Ryan Reynolds explaining his ‘little sabbatical’ at Red Notice premiere

Ryan Reynolds is taking a break from work to spend some ‘quality time’ with his three daughters with wife Blake Lively. The actor was recently was in the news when he announced his ‘little sabbatical’ from making films and has now explained the reason behind it. He has now explained that his decision stems from the fact that he is keen to hang out with his and wife Blake Lively's daughters, James, six, Inez, five, and two-year-old Betty before they are old enough to "loathe" him and be more reluctant to be in his company.

The actor attended the premiere of his latest film Red Notice in Los Angeles that also stars Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot and spoke to an online portal about his decision at the red carpet. He had earlier mentioned to a magazine that his work ethic often leaves him anxious. He said, “I tend to bite off way more than I could or should chew. I fixate on things...That’s sort of the engine of anxiety. I lay awake at night, wrapping and unwrapping every possible scenario. I slept at a perfect right angle for so many years.”

He further had told the portal that instead of ticking boxes and counting on achievements, his goal, for the moment, is to embrace and live. Ryan said, “I tend to pave over anxiety with work and, to a lesser extent, achievement...You want to tick boxes sometimes. So these days, my goal is to be as present as I can and not just tick a box just to do it. I’m fully embracing and living that right now.”

The actor had announced taking a “little sabbatical”, after wrapping up shooting for his upcoming film Spirited, which also stars Will Ferrell. While sharing a picture from the film, he had written, ““Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making. I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists.”
