Elvis trailer: Austin Butler brings the King of Rock n Roll to life in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic alongside Tom Hanks as his manager

The first trailer for Elvis has dropped and it has blown everyone’s mind because yes, that really is Austin Butler singing in Elvis Presley’s role. Prior to the trailer release a first look was dropped by director Baz Luhrmann but the trailer shows Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker and Butler’s journey together that spans their entire lifetime through a cultural phenomenon, after all, not for nothing was the singer called the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

The trailer shows the early life of Presley right from his childhood when he becomes overwhelmed by the music and dancing on entering a revival tent. He is shown reading a Captain Marvel Jr. comic and wearing his lightning bolt that would be instrumental in his signature style later in life. Butler really impresses with his singing and moves mimicking Presley to the T. It also shows that the film not only concentrates on Presley’s music but the Black America music that was an integral part of his career.
