Black Adam trailer: Dwayne Johnson presents an action-packed thriller against the JSA with Pierce Brosnan mentoring him

The highly-awaited trailer of Dwayne Johnson starrer Black Adam is finally here and it’s safe to say that the wait was worth it. Johnson plays the titular anti-hero in the DC comic’s flick with a thrilling origin story to boot. The trailer looks like a dark mythological tale and is a mix of modern and ancient world with Pierce Brosnan making an appearance as Doctor Fate.

In the beginning of the trailer, we see Johnson undergoing some transformation after which he wakes up and recounts his own dark history as a slave and being reborn as a god. The action packed trailer also harps on the fact that Johnson will have a face-off against the members of JSA. Black Adam is actually the enemy of Shazam in the comics but here the latter does not feature.

According to the DC Comics website, “Black Adam is an ancient wielder of magic, both a hero and a villain over his thousands-years-long life. He believes that he is the right person to lead humanity and that he is the solution to the greater good of the world, but has allowed his power to corrupt him over the many years of his life.”

Apart from Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, the film stars Sarah Shahi as Isis, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan as Dr Fate. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and will release in theatres on October 21.
