On Saturday, the Halloween celebration in South Korea's Seoul turned into a tragedy. Reportedly, around 151 people were killed and over 100 were injured in a stampede at a prominent market in the capital Seoul, where a massive crowd had gathered for the celebration. This year's Halloween was the first since the pandemic started in 2020 in which South Koreans have not been mandated to wear face masks outdoors.
In the tragic incident, Produce 101 Season 2 contestant Lee Ji-han lost his life. He was 24 years old. The news of Lee Ji-han's demise was confirmed by his agency. We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to his family, who are in deep grief due to the sudden demise of the actor."
The agency further said, "Lee Ji-han was a sweet and warm friend to all. We can't believe that we won't be able to see the infinitely bright and innocent actor Ji-han who always smiled and greeted us anymore."
