Mickey 17 teaser: Robert Pattinson’s first look from Bong Joon Ho’s film is scary and chilling, will arrive in theaters on March 29, 2024

Warner Bros. has released the first look teaser of Robert Pattinson from Oscar-winning writer/director/producer Bong Joon Ho’s (Parasite, Snowpiercer) sci-fi film Mickey 17. The film, Mickey 17, is currently in production and is directed, produced and scripted by the filmmaker; it is based on the novel Mickey 7 written by Edward Ashton.

The teaser shows Pattinson inside an odd-looking capsule; as the camera zooms into his face the actor suddenly opens his eyes. In the film, he will reportedly be playing an expendable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the fictional ice world of Niflheim. He dangerous missions frequently results in death and is regenerated through a clone with most of his memories intact. After going missing on a routine scouting mission, Mickey7 returns to his colony to find a clone already fulfilling his duties and he must keep his dual identities a secret to prevent their deaths. However, he must rise up and save both humanity and local life forms when the native alien species begin closing in on the colony.

Mickey 17 also stars Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo. The film is produced by Plan B Entertainment, Dooho Choi of Kate Street Picture Company, and Bong Joon Ho under his Offscreen, Inc. banner. 

The behind-the-camera creative team includes Oscar-nominated director of photography Darius Khondji, Oscar-nominated production designer Fiona Crombie, Oscar-nominated editor Jinmo Yang, costume designer Catherine George and visual effects supervisor Dan Glass. The music is by composer Jae-il Jung.

Mickey 17 will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures on March 29, 2024.
