Renfield trailer: Nicholas Hoult plays a loyal but frustrated aide to Nicolas Cage’s Count Dracula

Universal Pictures (distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery) recently unveiled the trailer of their upcoming horror comedy, Renfield. Produced by Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst, Sean Furst, Chris McKay and directed by Chris McKay, the film is set to hit theatres on April 14, 2023.

The gruesome trailer gives us the glimpse of a modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult who stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss Dracula. Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency. Will he be able to move out of his master’s shadows or not?

The film is based on an original idea by The Walking Dead and Invincible creator Robert Kirkman. Renfield stars Nicholas Hoult, Nicolas Cage, Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez in pivotal roles.
