Warner Bros. Pictures dropped the latest trailer for its upcoming film Shazam! Fury of the Gods, starring Zachary Levi as the titular hero. As the DCU (formerly known as DCEU) is heading for many changes under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran, 2023 will still have many films coming out that had been in the pipeline. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is one such project that continues the story of Billy Batson and his adoptive family with some increased budget which can be deduced from the trailer. Levi is back as Shazam, while Asher Angel portrays the teenage version of the DC hero. The film will now release on March 17, 2023.
The Shazam! Fury of the Gods trailer shows a lot of the film depicting the conflict between the family and the Daughters of Atlas. The trailer depicts the trouble that they will unleash on the world and Shazam’s and his team’s efforts to save it. The major conflict is that the Daughters of Atlas are not thrilled with the children having been given godlike powers and have the capability to reduce them to normal, ordinary people by taking away their powers. The trailer shows that the sequel was made on a grand scale with additions of dragons and various mythical creatures, not to mention the hint towards Game of Thrones in the dialogue. The trailer gives away a lot of jokes, plots and even glimpses of what seems to be the climactic fight.
