Joker: Folie a Deux – Joker 2 director Todd Phillips unveils first look of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix

Director Todd Phillips has shared a new still from his upcoming film Joker: Folie a Deux featuring Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in her first look, alongside Joaquin Phoenix’s titular Joker. Sharing the picture on his Instagram account, he captioned it, “Happy Valentines Day.” Lady Gaga also shared the same still with just the name of the film as the caption.

The character of Harley Quinn had earlier been played by Margot Robbie in Birds of Prey and Suicide Squad. Lady Gaga takes on the role in Joker: Folie a Deux which is a musical of sorts and an official sequel to the 2019 hit release Joker that earned Phoenix his first Best Actor Oscar award.

Details about the sequel are strictly under wraps. The film is also said to star Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener and Jacob Lofland.

Joker 2 is slated for an October 9, 2024 release.
