Would not direct something for James Gunn’s DC: Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck has opened up on the speculations that he will be directing the next film for DC Studios. In a recent interview given to an online portal, Ben quashed all rumours of directing and starring in a Batman film and said that he has no interest in directing a superhero feature especially under new DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Ben was asked in the interview whether he would be keen enough to direct a superhero movie for DC Studios. To this, the actor-director said, “I would not direct something for the (James) Gunn DC. Absolutely not. I have nothing against James Gunn. Nice guy, sure he’s going to do a great job. I just wouldn’t want to go in and direct in the way they’re doing that. I’m not interested in that.”

Ben is awaiting the release of his directorial Air that stars himself, Matt Damon, Viola Davis, Jason Bateman, Chris Messina, Matthew Maher, Marlon Wayans, Chris Tucker, Gustaf Skarsgard and Julius Tennon. The film is about the birth of the Air Jordan brand and the partnership between Nike and a rookie Michael Jordan. It is slated to release in theatres on April 5, 2023, before heading to Prime Video.
