‘Unforgettable first trip to India,’ says Gigi Hadid as she shares photos with Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and sight-seeing in Mumbai after attending NMACC launch

Supermodel Gigi Hadid had the time of her life in India, and she couldn’t help but gush about the culture, fashion and the celebs in a long Instagram post. Gigi was in India for the launch of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai and was able to not only floor everyone on the pink carpet of the event by wearing a saree but also realized her Bollywood dream when she danced with Varun Dhawan and even got picked up by her in his arms (all scripted and not impromptu) and started following him on Instagram as well. Taking to Instagram, Gigi not only gave a description of the saree that she wore but also shared pictures posing with Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – the only two Indian celebs that made it to her Instagram post, sending netizens into frenzy.

Gigi spoke about her awesome time at the NMACC gala and thanked the Ambani family for bringing her to the momentous occasion. She also urged her supporters to go to the Mumbai’s brand-new cultural hub. Sharing the pictures, she wrote, “The @nmacc.india Gala was a celebration of Indian craftsmanship, and its inspiration on fashion internationally, with the opening of the exhibit “India in Fashion: The Impact of Indian Dress and Textiles on the Fashionable Imagination,” curated by the iconic @hamishbowles! It was my honor and joy to showcase this masterpiece designed by @abujanisandeepkhosla this Chikankari sari was made in the Lucknow region of India, and took a year to make; each woman who crafted it specializes in a differently stitch truly remarkable workmanship .. I’ll never forget it.”

Gigi also shared a few more pictures from her first visit to India which shows that she had a whale of a time roaming around the city with her friends as a normal tourist. She visited the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), Mumbai University and even had tender coconut water from a roadside vendor. She wrote, “Warmest Thanks to the Ambani family for hosting me in Mumbai for the Opening Weekend of @nmacc.india! It was an honor to be there to witness your family’s vision come to life, in a beautiful world-class Cultural Center to celebrate and cultivate the creatives and heritage of India. After seeing the opening nights of “The Great Indian Musical” and “India in Fashion” exhibit, I learned so much & know this venue will nurture future generations to explore their passions— from dance to design, from music to art. If you have the chance to visit & see these productions — I HIGHLY recommend!!!! Unforgettable first trip to India. Much love.”

A day ago, a photo of Gigi in Mumbai’s CST station went viral. She went unrecognized inside one of the busiest stations in the city and roamed around with her friends without any security.
